3 easy steps to a successful Virtual Event!

How does it all work?

You often wonder how it all works. With so much technology it becomes overwhelming. Dont worry, we have you covered. Below are some easy steps to virtual event success!

Setting the scene!

Think TV!

You’re about to start a virtual birthday party and all of sudden you realize that 30 kids with microphones is a bad idea. They are all excited to be there, but you need a little time to present your cake, play your games, it becomes an avalanche of sound. What do you do?

power of the MUTE Button!

If you’re using youtube, facebook, or event twitch, there isn’t much of a problem with hearing your audience, but ZOOM, there is a beast of an issue. Unfortunately zoom has yet to figure out how to give the host full power to entirely mute or unmute individuals, but Im sure teachers would greatly appreciate the function. Currently, zoom has the “mute all” function which does occasionally work. Thats why you have to set some ground rules before your event. Before you sign on, make sure all your guests know the rules of the house by emailing or even mailing them an invite that contains the rules of the room. Explaining that all guests must be polite and respectful and to listen to the host. This can be reiterated as your guests sign on. This in combination with the mute function will allow for some control. However the best method, is not invite the loud kids.

Ive got thier attention, NOW WHAT?

Keep their attention! Easier said than done right? Takes something more than just shiny objects to keep kids entertained. So what do you do? Easy1 Energy, Energy, Energy.

We don’t necessarily mean chug a red bull and down a few pixie sticks, but close to. Kids need are full of energy, and always need some sort of venting process. You now become that venting process. Keep your energy higher then theirs. Keep their focus by creating interactive content that keeps their mind guessing. Games that involve prizes are always a sure fire way to get peoples attention. Bribery, always seems to work somehow. Play my game and win a prize. You can beat free stuff! A great way is to mail out or have your guests pick up goodie bags the day of the event, but right before the zoom session, that have learning materials that you will all get an opportunity to learn together. Whether its magic kit, origami, or even learning how to play an instrument, keeping the kids mind occupied is a great way to bring a little more fun to your virtual event!

If all else fails, Hire!

Let’s say, you’ve done it all. Kids are still unmuting themselves, you’re worn out after a long day at work, and you hate your kids friends. What do you do? Hire a professional.

We make our living and keeping kids attention. It’s fun for us, but stressful for others.
